Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Discova: Discounts Display app (“the App”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when a merchant installs it on their Shopify store. By installing the App you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

The App is a back-office tool for merchants. It collects only the data it needs to synchronise Shopify discounts and render discount badges and strikethrough prices on the storefront:

• Store details — your myshopify.com store domain and the access token issued during installation, used to authenticate API calls back to your store.
• Store owner contact — the account email associated with the Shopify OAuth session, used for the app session and support correspondence.
• Catalog & discount data — product and variant identifiers, discount configuration, collection membership, and price data read from the Shopify Admin API in order to determine which products should display a badge.
• App-owned metafields — the App writes discount metafields to your products under a reserved, app-owned namespace so the storefront can render badges.

What we do not collect

The App does not collect, store, or process personal data belonging to your storefront shoppers (buyers). It does not access order, customer, or payment records for marketing purposes.

How we use information

• To synchronise your Shopify discounts and keep badge data accurate.
• To render discount badges and strikethrough prices on your storefront.
• To operate your subscription, enforce plan limits, and provide support.
• To diagnose errors and maintain the reliability of the service.

We do not sell your data or share it for advertising.

Data storage & subprocessors

Data is stored on secured cloud infrastructure operated by Amazon Web Services (AWS). Access is restricted and communication is encrypted in transit. We rely on the following subprocessors to deliver the service:

• Shopify — the platform the App extends; source of the store, catalog, and discount data.
• Amazon Web Services (AWS) — application hosting, database, and background processing.

Data retention & deletion

We retain your data only for as long as the App is installed. When you uninstall the App:

• Shopify automatically removes the app-owned metafields the App wrote to your products.
• We delete or anonymise your store record and associated app data from our systems.

The App also honours Shopify’s mandatory GDPR compliance webhooks (customers/data_request, customers/redact, and shop/redact). Because the App processes no shopper personal data, the customer requests return no personal data; the shop redaction request purges the store’s remaining records.

Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (including the GDPR and CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the data we hold about your store. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below and we will respond within the period required by applicable law.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
